International womens day: Fight the cuts!
Youth Fight for Jobs sends solidarity on International Women’s Day to all women and those fighting austerity around the world
Youth Fight for Jobs sends solidarity on International Women’s Day to all women and those fighting austerity around the world. As public services and jobs are attacked, women are being hit hard. Here in Britain, one million women are unemployed – the public sector jobs that many tend to go into having been decimated. Childcare, welfare, health and education are all being cut to the bone. It will be women, in the main, forced to pick up the slack for these services. But many women have also been at the forefront of fighting back – campaigning against local cuts and taking strike action against attacks on our pension rights. Youth Fight for Jobs is committed to building a strong, united movement against austerity and making sure that by International Women’s Day 2013, the government is clear that it won’t get away with these brutal, divisive cuts.
